What You Will Need To Do Immediately After You Relocate Your Residence

   4. Hospitals and clinics
2. Familiarize yourself and your family with any emergency procedures.
3. Make certain that any services and utilities needed are hooked up or scheduled for installation:
   1. Water (if municipal)
   2. Gas
   3. Electric
   4. Telephone (local and long distance)
   5. Postal
   6. Cable television
   7. Internet service provider
   8. Garbage removal
   9. Landscape maintenance
   10. Pool maintenance
   11. Newspapers
   12. Insurers
4. Contact the Department of Motor Vehicles if you need to change your driver's license.
5. Familiarize yourself with your neighborhood and the surrounding areas.
   1. Banks
   2. Schools
   3. Shopping
   4. Restaurants and theaters
   5. Parks and recreational area
   6. Houses of worship
   7. Mass transit systems
   8. Expressways
6. Register for voting, jury duty and local community meetings.
7. Find and contact local doctors, dentists and veterinarians and supply them with your previous records and insurance information.
8. If you have young children make sure they feel safe and secure in their new surroundings.
9. Enjoy your new home and settle in.
