Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Are you growing tired of your old home or the neighborhood you live in? Is your family growing and you need more space, or you want to move your business into a home office? Have the kids moved out and your needs are just not the same anymore?

Whatever your thoughts may be you are trying to decide if you should make a move up or stay right where you are, and remodel or improve your property. All of this will affect your finances.

As always, location is most important. Is the present or proposed location one of your liking and is it one that is considered a good financial investment? How does it affect the value of your home? Is it worth investing in a property that may be in a neighborhood that does not warrant any more money being put into the home? You may think that improvements are, ok but what will prospective buyers think in the future when you go to sell your home? Will they be willing to pay what you need to get back for your improvement / investment?

Due your do diligence and try to come to a determination of what your neighborhood's desireability will be in the future and how that will affect you property's value, only then can you decide if you should move or stay put and invest.
